Recently we posted a blog on the necessity of dating your spouse. Today, we are going to offer some ideas for dates. We would love to have you join in on the conversation with what you enjoy doing on a date

Dates can range in price and variety of activities. This list could go on forever, but here are just a few of the more inexpensive ones we enjoy. Remember to always check on Groupon or Living Socials for some amazing deals.

  • Dinner and a movie
  • Takeout and DVD (When our kids were little, and we couldn’t afford a babysitter.)
  • Evening walk in a pretty park in your area or along a waterway.
  • Hike in the woods/mountains.
  • Conversations on the patio
  • BBQ at home.
  • Tennis/basketball at the neighborhood courts.
  • A walk through the mall. (Of course, you have to stop for chocolates or ice cream.)
  • Pick a restaurant you’ve never been to and try out their Happy Hour food. Even the most expensive restaurants have some decent prices at that time.
  • Coffee at your favorite hangout.
  • Dessert at a restaurant who has live music. (Our first memories of this were Germantown in Columbus, OH. Great band and great cream puffs.)
  • Free museum day
  • Shooting at a gun range or on a friend’s property.
  • Miniature golf.couple talking
  • Boat ride.
  • Picnic
  • Bike or motorcycle ride.
  • Rock climbing.
  • Playing a card or board game together.
  • Video games or Wii.
  • Roller skating
  • Golfing/driving range. (Actually, Jim golfs, and I ride in the cart with a good book. We enjoy nature together and each get to do something we love while being together.)
  • Pool table
  • Live theater.
  • Poolside
  • Double date with some great friends. (Occasionally. You still need to have your alone dates.)

These are just a few. Maybe this list will help eliminate this conversation, “What do you want to do?” “I don’t know. What do you want to do?”

Now tell us what you enjoy doing. We all can use some new ideas.
